Welcome to Cub Scouts Pack 610!
The BSA’s mission is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. We are excited to announce that our Cub Scouting program is now open to boys and girls. By welcoming both girls and boys into the program, even more youth will have access to the character development and values-based leadership that Scouting promises.
If your son or daughter is not already part of Cub Scouting, consider joining Pack 610's Cub Scouting program and share in a special community experience. To see how scouting can positively affect your boy's life, view this informative video.
Is your son or daughter currently in K - 5th Grade? If so, they can join Cub Scouts NOW! It's never too late - cub scouting has year-round excitement.
Don't hesitate to contact our pack to learn more. You can reach us by emailing the Cubmaster. We look forward to welcoming your son and your entire family into Pack 610. Come and join the fun!
More Information about our Pack:
We meet the first through third Wednesday each month for den meetings and the fourth Wednesday for the pack meeting. We meet in the cafeteria of Roosevelt Elementary School Moline, IL at 6 pm. Siblings are always welcome to participate in Pack activities. Pack 610 is a family oriented group focused on outdoor adventure, community involvement, and having “fun with a purpose.”
Cub Scout packs are divided into smaller groups called dens. Dens consists of about five to eight boys, by rank (generally in the same grade):
- Lions - Kindergarten
- Tigers - First Grade
- Wolves - Second Grade
- Bears - Third Grade
- Webelos - Fourth Grade
- Arrow of Light - Fifth Grade
Our cub scout dens have additional meetings or outings throughout the month. Kids can start cub scouts at any level. They do not have to begin as Tigers.
The 10 purposes of Cub Scouting are:
Character Development, Spiritual Growth, Good Citizenship, Sportsmanship and Fitness, Family Understanding, Respectful Relationships, Personal Achievement, Friendly Service, Fun and Adventure
Why join Scouting?
Ask the scouts and they will tell you it’s a lot of fun and they’re right. However, while they are having fun a lot of learning and growing occurs. Cub Scouts is a family program designed to develop character, good citizenship, good sportsmanship, life skills and strong families. Cub Scouts helps kids learn to be helpful, to respect other people and to strive to do one’s best.
